Keeping An Eye On "Sky Cow"

We are spending a very quiet Labor Day today keeping an eye on Gustav. Here in Northwest Florida we are experiencing a whole lot of rain and wind. We are currently under a tornado watch. Thankfully it seems we will escape disaster. I am praying everyone will be spared.

On a playful note, I have decided to join Blue Monday. I have chosen "Sky Cow," from Cow Parade (Chicago, 1999) for today's lucky lady. She's perfect since our minds are concentrating on what's happening in the sky, and she is blue.

I took advantage of a break in the weather to photograph her under the carport, on top of my car. I get a kick out of taking pictures of my cows. They are all so cooperative. I really liked the reflection in this shot.

In other news, on the way home from church yesterday, I spied some ducks crossing the road. Bob sweetly stopped the car so I could jump out and take their picture. They were heading to a pond and they came to this drain thing at the end of the street. Mother duck jumped up on top and I thought, "Poor babies, they can't jump up there." Then look what happened. They just went through the hole and joined mama on the other side. You have got to love Mother Nature.

Great picture. The reflection does look fantastic.

I miss all my little duck friends since we moved away from South Florida.

I like the cow! I took a look around your blog and noticed that you seem to like them. I believe when I went to Boston a couple of years ago (I don't travel off Cape much!) I saw some throughout the city!

I also noticed that you are a retired teacher. I'm starting another year at school tomorrow. I teach kindergarten.

Take care,
Dawn

I was in Chicago and saw the Cow Parade. I remember my favorite was Marilyn Monroe Cow, with bling and everything! But I must say that this Blue Cow is perfect for today.

BTW: I'm loaded with ducks, so if ever you'd like some, come and get 'em!
