Cow-rrabbas, Guess Who Came To Lunch

I have chosen "Cow-rrabbas" from Cow Parade (Houston, Texas, 2001) to be today's cow-of-the-day because I am thinking about how much fun I had being the chef for my family last Saturday. I know you want to hear all about it, so read on.

One time, a long, long time ago Mamaw and Papaw came to my house to have lunch. It was back in 1979 when William was a newborn baby. Kellie and Lawrence were little children back then, too. It was so much fun to have my mother and father come for a visit.

Over the years we have had many lovely lunches together, but it's not as easy to get everyone together as it used to be. You cannot imagine how happy I was when Mamaw and Papaw came to town last Saturday. They came early and stayed for lunch. Gina and Will came and brought Abigail and Amelia. Kellie and Tim brought Macie. We all had so much fun. Even Lawrence came out of his apartment to see them. He kept on his pajamas, but it was Saturday, and you don't have to get dressed for lunch on Saturday even if your grandparents come to town. I fixed a nice lunch for everybody, nothing too fancy, and we all ate plenty.

Here is a picture of my babies with their grandparents now.

Here is a great picture of most of the brood with Mamaw and Papaw.

On February 22, 2009, Mamaw and Papaw will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary. I have been looking through all the old pictures getting them organized for the celebration, and look what I found. This picture was taken in the summer of 1954. I can tell because that is my little brother and he was born in May of 1954. Weren't we a good-looking family? The other picture was taken up on their farm last summer. Once a family, always a family! There are just a lot more branches on the family tree now.

Oh how I loved seeing the family gatherings through the years...
sorry to say, but my family disbanded when I was only 8 years old...but that's another story. You have always had the same sweet smile since your early childhood.
