Blue Monday: Glaciers in Alaska

"Wisconsin Winter" is the name for this gorgeous lady from Cow Parade (Madison, Wisconsin, 2006.) I selected her for the cow-of the-day for this Blue Monday because she reminds me of the glaciers we saw in Alaska in 2006. There are some other wonderful bloggers celebrating Blue Monday today. You can find out all about it on Smiling Sally's blog. After you enjoy my glaciers you can click on over and check out all the others. Have a Happy Blue Monday!

We had a wonderful vacation in Alaska. These pictures were taken while we were on a boat out of Seward. We were able to see whales, seals, puffins, and other birds on the trip to the glacier. This big mountain of blue ice was something to behold. We were so close we could hear the sound of the glacier calving. I will never forget this experience. I'm feeling cold just looking at these pictures. What a great Blue Monday chill! I'm loving it. I hope you all have a special Blue Monday. Take care, and thanks for your sweet comments.

Seeing the glaciers that close was my favorite part of our whole trip. The boat ride we took to go see them... not so much. :)

I can't imagine being that cold!! I don't think I have ever seen blue ice before, except the kind jettisoned by airplanes. :-)

I love your Alaskan post. The blues are beautiful. We have been talking about a cruise and land trip to Alaska - maybe next summer. Your lovely post makes me even more anxious.

Dear Grandma Faith
Hope your having a great Blue Monday. Mine is full of sunshine with the Canadian Geese flying overhead...that's when you know fall is in the air.
Love the cow boy!! and Alaska.
When my mom, sister and I were there, I was talking so much and laughing (while on our balcony) that we missed the biggest glacier ice break that year....we always laugh about it to this day. Thank goodness the captain caught it on film.
Must get outside and start pulling out the summer flowers.
Have a great week
Love Claudie

Love the blue cow. Great art piece. The glaciers are stunning and they do look blue. I have seen them up close with a helicopter ride that landed on them. That was a wonderful trip.

Hugs...Jeanne

Wow, what beautiful blue pictures. Everyone I know who has been to Alaska says it is gorgeous. We're hearing more about it these days since Sarah Palin came on the scene.

That glacier was the "coolest" thing on the whole trip, in more ways than one.
