It's A Starry Night For Blue Monday

Vincent Van Gogh painted a beautiful painting in 1889 called "A Starry Night." That painting serves as the inspiration for one of my favorite Cow Parade cows, "Starry, Starry Cow" (Kansas City, 2001.) This painting also inspired a beautiful song, "Vincent" by Don McLean. "Starry Cow" gets to be today's cow-of-the-day because, of course, she is blue and it is Monday. She also is here to commemorate the lovely date Bob and I had Saturday night. We spent a fun-filled evening with our friends from his company. They were celebrating 25 years of being in business. Any excuse for a good time will do as far as I am concerned, but I have to admit this was an auspiscious occasion. We boarded the Solaris about 6:oo; that's when they took the picture of us. We enjoyed a lovely cruise for several hours. The dinner and the music were very nice and the sky was full of stars. It was a starry, starry night of fun!

While I am on the subject of stars, have you ever heard of star fruit? Nancy, my friend and mother-in-law, picked one from a tree in her backyard and gave it to me. She told me how to prepare it. Those little stars are so cute. I was so impressed with this star fruit that I made a delicious fruit salad with it. I even saved six seeds, so maybe I'll be able to grow my own star fruit tree. I did some research (how did we ever live without the internet?) and found out it's other name is carambola. Check it out if you are in the mood for some exotic fruit.

Here is my fruit salad. It has star fruit, watermelon, cantelope, honeydew, and blueberries.

"A Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh is on display now at the Museum of Modern Art in New

"That's Cow It Goes"

We went down to the beach last night to see if the tropical storm heading our way was creating any big waves. I have never seen the gulf so calm. Seems the wind was blowing the surf out instead of in to shore.

While we were there we had some fun playing at the kid's playground. The play stuff reminded me of this weird cow. Her name is "That's Cow It Goes." (Cow Parade, Atlanta, 2003) I don't know what it is all about, but it makes me think, "Man, I've had some days when I felt like that cow!"

Bob is having a close encounter of the shark kind.

I'm goofing around with this sporty fish, or maybe it's a fishy sport.

As the sun begins to set, we can't help but feel the romantic mood. The sunset was so beautiful, I wanted to share the experience. Hopefully the storm won't be too bad. I think we are just in for a lot of rain for the next few days.

July 29, 1989, Bob and Faith sealed their relationship in the bonds of holy matrimony. My best friend became my husband and I'm happy to say after 19 years he's still my best friend.

There is no place else on earth I'd rather be than hanging on Bob.





Being in Cozumel, Mexico, is more fun with Bob.










It's more fun to be in the Smokey Mountains with Bob.



The Grand Canyon is more fun with Bob.























Cruising anywhere is more fun with Bob.












Sitting on a dock on the Baltic Sea outside of Dubrovnik, Croatia, is more fun because I'm with Bob.

My life is wonderful and I am so glad I get to spend it with my beloved Bob.
