Blue Monday: Chicago Tiffany Art Glass Dome

It's time for Blue Monday hosted by Smiling Sally. She extends her cordial welcome to one and all to join in and post your happy blues.

Here are some more pictures I took on my fun trip to Chicago. Imagine how happy I was to see this beautiful BLUE ceiling in the Chicago Cultural Center. This awesome building was once a library, and it is definitely worth visiting when you go to Chicago.

It's the largest Tiffany art glass dome in the whole wide world!

Hi Faith,
I thought at first that you were posting a picture from the Tiffany Museum in Orlando. I went there several years ago while visiting my relatives!

This is beautiful...thanks for sharing.

This should be seen in person ! I can see from a photo, that it is marvelous.
I am still busy with my photo books for grandchildren. I have done three now, but I have to do yet one or perhaps also to the Melissa, she is 1 year and 3 months now, My blog are waiting even we got last night a little snow here. It`s a record, because this is a latest day ever, when we have the first snow in this part of Finland!
I wish you a happy Blue Monday.

Faith, the only time I was in Chicago was in the Airport for a plane change. I have always wanted to see the sights in Chicago. That ceiling is stunning. One day I will go there.
Lovely blue today.

Hi Faith!
Oh my goodness. That dome is absolutely beautiful! The art and glasswork that went into that is just mind boggling isn't it? It must have been something to see it in person. It looks really heavy too...hmmm...I can't really even imagine how they get something like that in place. You were able to take such great pictures of it too.

I hope you've had a good day today...thanks for stopping by.
I'd love to give you just one of our snowy days. Today was a nice day.
*hugs*

That dome is breathtaking! I just moved to Germany and feel almost overwhelmed by images somewhat like this. You remind me to appreciate them.
Isn't this world beautiful?
Thanks for sharing it.

Yup. Definitely spectacular! I always feel a little out of place in places like that. During the Great College Road Trip of '05 my son and I visited Eastman School of Music in Rochester and Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Both schools were founded by guys named George who had more money than they knew what to do with and apparently a taste for over-the-top art and architecture. They built some truly amazing places, but I never quite felt at ease in them.

But pass up a chance to shoot this dome? Not bloody likely.

Wonderful photos, and a great perspective!
