This is the time of year when all the butterflies are migrating south, so we get to see lots of them. This sweet Cow Parade (Atlanta, 2003) lady is called "Butterfly" and she is here as the cow-of-the-day to help welcome the butterflies. This lovely little gerber daisy was also blooming this morning.
I had never tried to photograph a butterfly before. Let me tell you, it is no easy task. I'm sure if any of my neighbors saw me running around with the camera chasing butterflies, they got a good laugh. Finally I decided to just sit down and wait patiently for one to land near me. After deleting many tries that did not turn out well, I decided these pictures could be posted for all to enjoy.
I added the last picture so you could all see what the trees look like in my yard. Happy Fall in Florida.

Good, good morning, Grandma Faith...these pics of the butterflies are just fabulous. You did a GREAT job getting them to share with us...thanks!
Also was thrilled to see you are POSTING PINK this month....maybe all this PINK will help making awareness of this dreaded disease save lives. Let's pray HARD that it does.
love, bj
I have many blurry photos especially of butterflies. And I have chased them around. I agree that waiting is good. Thank you for your complement on my red-bellied woodpecker photo. The Canon camera is very good and helps me a lot...Love the pink idea too.
I applaud you for your pink pictures this month.
Hi G'ma! I like your pink for October, are a lot of bloggers doing this? It is a nice thing to do.
Fall in Florida is similar to Fall in the Houston Gulf Coast Area. We will be having (cross our fingers) about a month or so of very pleasant 'football weather.' Then we start wearing jackets, in December we might put the shorts in the drawer until mid-February.

I love all your cows! We bought our daughter one for Christmas in 2001.
Sotheby's conducted the live auction following the close of CowParade Houston on December 6, 2001 at the Wortham Center.

Two people from our subdivision bought, one put theirs out in the front yard until our POA made them move it to the back yard. Then just the boaters could see it. :-)

Butterflies are so hard to photograph! I have done the same thing!
You did a great job capturing the butterfly by camera! I tried to photograph bees on the flowers once, and it was really hard! Never did get a good picture! Love your little cow...she is too cute! ~Rhonda :)
Hi Faith!
Your pink lily is beautiful. It looks like it has great strength and determination...thats what we need in conqueuring this dreaded disese.
I was chuckling to myself however, reading your post. I had this vision of you chasing the butterflies with your camera..oh dear it still makes me laugh. But you captured them so well in particular with the one with the open wings. Good for you. Patience.
Happy October 1st! Love the wings on your cow also.
Hope it was a nice day.
