Blue Monday: Painting of Venice

This day of sharing blue is brought to you by Smiling Sally.

You can have so much fun visiting these sites of blue.

This is a beautiful oil painting I have hanging in my dining room. I bought it at an antique store, and there is not even a signature on it. For all I know the person who painted it isn't even a "real" artist, but I believe the painter had talent, and I love the picture. The blues are so vibrant. It reminds me of Venice and the wonderful time I had there. The person who sold me the painting didn't know anything about it, but I liked it, and I bought it, and there it hangs.
Enough said.

Hi Faith,
That is a beautiful painting. We will be going there this summer...it is part of our trip to Greece! We went to Italy before, but didn't go to Venice.
Have a great day,
Diane

Hi Faith, That is such a beautiful picture. I love to look at anything that has to do with the water. So pretty. Venice seems like it would be such a romantic city with all of it's old buildings and etc. I hope you have a lovely day! Carol

Hi Grandma, this is a very pretty picture. With lots of blue!
One color (Ruby Red) is enough for me. I do Skywatch Friday and Wordless Wednesday and One Single Impression (Sunday) on my other blog (Little Photo Place), and all that keeps me too busy.
..
I'd go back to Tuscony in a minute but I am not sure about Venice. As far as I can tell, 'been there, done that.' :-)

Good Morning Dawn
Thats too bad the person didn't sign and date that picture. Its so beautiful and vivid in colour. I wonder who it was...and how they came about painting it...guess we'll never know...
thank you for sharing.

I like it too. It does look like Venice. I've been to Venice too, but the water is no where close to that pretty blue. Happy Blue Monday!

The only important part of that painting is that you get so much enjoyment out of it, not whether it is by someone who is known. Very nice!

I love that picture -- so pretty and such vivid colors! That it reminds you of a special time and place makes it all the more wonderful.

I love the way you closed this. "I liked it, I bought it." That, to me, is all the reason you need. That said, it's still quite a lovely painting whoever painted it. Has a Monet-ish look to it.

And of course, there's plenty of blue in it... which is always good.

Hi Faith! Your painting is lovely and what wonderful shades of blue in it. Enjoy. I'm late getting around to blue this week. I'll have to pop up and comment on your ruby, too since it's already Tuesday :0)
